In WPM (words per minute), a kid's speed and accuracy in typing are tested. Usually, the WPM test is done for 1 minute to check the typing ability of a person. For a standard typist, between 38 and 40 words per minute is the average WPM. This translates to 190 to 200 characters per minute (CPM). Skilled typists, however, type a lot more, averaging between 65 and 75 WPM.
If the kid is a beginner, a WPM test can greatly examine the child's skill before practicing typing properly. The more the kid practice typing with typing games and typing lessons, the more their typing speed is checked, the greater their WPM score would be.
In taking the WPM test, feedback is given, which the kid will know if how many keystrokes were typed, how many strokes were right, and how many strokes were wrong.
Moreover, in the WPM typing test, the kids' gross speeds are measured. After the 60 seconds test, the kid earns a free certificate, which gives him an option to print it or Typing Practice more to get a higher score.
